I know it has been a while since my last post but a lot has happened. Let me catch you up, since my last post, I went back to Canada with Hersheys, Hersheys got sick, he passed away and I came back to Colombia. During my time in Canada, I went back to school.
After high school, I had been accepted to Mount Royal in Calgary but instead of going, I diceded to work, save up and buy a house. That’s another story but my point is, I didn’t do any post secondary education. I was already wanting to learn new things and wanting to grow on social media but I didn’t feel like YouTube and online free courses were going to work for me. I saw an add for an online school for graphic design and I thought that would work great for me because I could do it on my free time and from anywhere.
I asked for more information and liked what they told me. I decided to start right away and didn’t tell anyone about it. I just wanted to try it out and see if it was for me or if it was the right time. After starting, I was learning so much, I loved it and it really got me excited for the future and what I could do with my learning.
Being back at school hasn’t been easy, especially since I have a full time job and everything else that has been going on in my life. After Hersheys died, my depression took over and for a full semester, I feel behind. I failed my 5 classes of that semester, I got fired from my job and it was hard to get back on track.
Moving back to Colombia has been a great decision for me, with the help of studen services, I have been able to get back on track with my classes and be excited again. I have a weekly meeting with student services every week and we talk about my progress, how I’m doing with my assignments and if I need help with anything. I love that I am doing school virtually because I am able to continue while I am here in Colombia and it’s easier to work from home and do my classes online.
What’s next? Well, I want to focuse more on each assignment, learn as much as I can and I want to share what I’m learning with you. I want to post the assignment I have already done and have this has what I have learned and how I will continue my new career. I hope you enjoy my new posts and come on this new adventure with me.
